UC-UTCC has a data depository service for universe types of data. As long as it is beneficial to research activities especially on social science and economic fields, our data depository is for you. The core data depository system is “Dataverse Network Project”, developed by The Institute for Quantitative Social Science at Harvard University, IQSS. UC-UTCC is in the process of further collaborating with IQSS to integrate additional services to Dataverse. UC-UTCC has integrated Dataverse along with other additional services into our data depository system.
The Dataverse Network Project is a web applications developed under international well-known standards, protocols, and software tools for automating the process of citing, archiving, preserving, distributing, cataloging, translating, disseminating, naming, verifying, and replicating data and associated analyses. Dr. Gary King, professor and the founder of IQSS at Harvard University has made a definition of Dataverse as follow:
"The author introduces a set of integrated developments in Web application software, networking, data citation standards, and statistical methods designed to increase scholarly recognition for data contributions; to put some of the universe of data and data-sharing practices on firmer ground; and to facilitate the public distribution of persistent, authorized, and verifiable data, with powerful and easy-to-use technology, even when the data are confidential or proprietary. The goal is to solve some of the political and sociological problems of data sharing via technological means, with the result intended to benefit both the scientific community and the sometimes apparently contradictory goals of individual researchers."
UC-UTCC has developed additional software application to integrate our data cleansing processes and our data warehouse into Dataverse system. By combining all components together with good management practice, UC-UTCC is introducing a complete data banking service.
UC-UTCC believes that our services aim to favor all participants whether they are data owners, executives, researchers or just interested users. UC-UTCC also believes that our services are beneficial at some extends to either governments, non-profit, independent, or commercial organizations regardless of size and positions.
